RESPONSIBLITIES... for our local volunteer fire departments go far behind fighting fires. Pictured above is the ladder truck of Hartford Fire Department placed in downtown Hartford on Tuesday, January 24 to honor fallen fireman, Larry Anchor who gave 30 years to the department.
Three photos to the left are pictures from two structure fires that happened in the Hartford community the night before. Tones dropped about 10 p.m. on Monday night for the first fire and just around the time the firemen were getting to bed the second tone dropped at 2:30 a.m. Hartford Fire Department was assisted by Watervliet, Bangor, and Lawrence departments and Pride Care Ambulance.
The home of Stephanie Dixon was a total loss in the fire that occurred on the corner of Mary and Shephard streets. Details about the second fire (lower left) had not been released by press time.
