THE CROSS STANDS AGAIN… The St. Joseph Catholic Church’s cross was placed at its new memorial location in front of the parish rectory on Wednesday, March 30, 2026. Originally mounted at the apex of the former church building on Crescent Street, the cross has been restored and preserved following the building’s demolition in 2024. Assisting with the project were Paul Jaco, Bill Ott, Logan Swigert, Austin Hampton, Rick Martin, Jeremy Wines, Ray Warmoth, and Jim Sarno. Many thanks are extended to the crews of Trident Dock & Dredge, Wines & Sons Masonry, and the others who contributed to this project. (Photos courtesy of Mary Cooper)
