Restoring accountability

In Lansing, we often hear a lot of talk about accountability. But when it comes to the most important job we have, passing a budget on time, that talk seems to fade. Recently, my colleagues and I had a chance to put a simple, common-sense measure on the table to hold ourselves accountable, and it’s disappointing that it failed.
