A few weeks ago the Press Box noticed that the runner-up in SAC Lakeshore division baseball, Bridgman, was in a district well apart from Watervliet. Nothing unusual there, but is unusual that Bridgman was on the opposite side of the entire Division 3 tournament. Should both teams [Watervliet and Bridgman] win all the way through, the two would meet in the D3 championship game. Fast forward to today and Bridgman completed a remarkable and unexpected run all the way to the finals where they beat the top-ranked Algonac team 7-1 for the D3 state championship.
