Standing up to fraud


Michigan families are being squeezed from every direction, and one of the biggest pressures they face is finding affordable, reliable child care. When the state steps in to help, taxpayers deserve absolute confidence that their money is being spent honestly and effectively. That’s why I’ve demanded an independent audit of Michigan’s Child Development and Care Program.

Across the country, we’re seeing massive fraud scandals in government-run child care programs. In Minnesota alone, hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars were siphoned off by criminals and foreign scammers while families were left holding the bag. Michigan cannot afford to repeat that failure.
