Stay in the game

The AYSO soccer fields were next to the Oswego Airport in upstate New York. It was a crisp fall morning and we parents were watching a soccer game between two teams of very young, beginning players. A crowd of numbered shirts and very small shin guards followed the soccer ball wherever it went – all over the field! It was fun to watch, and the kids were having a great time. A little undisciplined in their soccer skills, but having a great time. For them it didn’t really matter who won; they all got treats when it was over. Another fine Saturday morning.
