Superintendent Brad Geesaman speaks on the upcoming bond issue at Hartford Public Schools

TUESDAY IN HARTFORD… Public Schools Superintendent, Brad Geesaman spoke on the upcoming bond issue that voters will be facing on Nov. 7. In a school tour and information night held on Tuesday, Oct. 24, Geesaman informed the attendees by showing them the current condition of both areas of the middle school and high school that need the most attention. Following the walk-through, the superintendent presented a slide show that explained how this bond is not a tax increase, rather an extenuation of a millage that was already passed.

Hartford Public Schools are not the only system going for a bond proposal in the Tri-City area, Watervliet Public Schools will also have a bond proposal on the ballot. Their informational night was Wednesday, Oct. 25, where Superintendent Ric Seager presented the facts of their bond.

Following the Hartford bond presentation, candidates for the mayoral race and city commissioner seats for the city of Hartford got together one last time for a meet and greet prior to the November 7 election. Mike Chappell, Van Buren County Commissioner, was the evening’s moderator.
