The mom-and-pop shops that make our cities home, and even national stores that create jobs in our communities, are suffering from the unprecedented rise in organized retail crime. In order to combat and prevent these crimes, there must be coordination between federal and local agencies. H.R. 7499, the Improving Federal Investigations of Organized Retail Crime Act, of which I am a cosponsor, is a bipartisan path to creating safe and secure places of commerce in local economies and target crime rings that profit off of other’s loss.
