The shepherd Psalm

The most popular Psalm in the Bible is the “Shepherd Psalm”, Psalm 23. It starts with “The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want” (KJV). We often hear it at funerals. This Psalm of David recounts God’s personal faithfulness to him throughout his life, and expresses the sure expectation of eternal life when this earthly experience ends (“And I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.”). It’s a Psalm of conquering hope.
