Tradition carried on for the Watervliet All Class Reunion with younger classes represented

YOUNGEST & OLDEST… Representing a 66-year span are this year’s oldest and youngest graduates of Watervliet High School. On the left is Cody Nearpass, now 26 years old and living in Watervliet. As was the case while in school, he is still active with the football and boys basketball teams, helping in the capacity as team manager for both. On the right is Don Finnefrock, still a youngster at 91 years of age, and living in Kalamazoo. While in school, he was a member of the football, basketball, and baseball teams. At that time, those were the only sports available at Watervliet. Don was inducted into the Watervliet Athletics Hall of Fame in 2018, part of the inaugural class of inductees. The old “school bell” rang at 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 17, 2024 signifying the 104th meeting of the Watervliet All Class Reunion (WACR) had begun. Over 85 former students and staff members, along with their families, gathered once again to enjoy catching up with classmates. Over ten attendees were there for the first time. Speakers were Marsha Stennecke Cole, chair of the WACR Committee; and Ric Seager, Watervliet Public Schools Superintendent.
