Van Buren Regional Genealogical Society hosts “Gangsters” author at HPL on April 19

Local author Chriss Lyon will be the featured guest speaker on Saturday, April 19, at the Hartford Public Library, 12 Church St., beginning at 11 a.m. Lyon is best known for her book “A Killing in Capone’s Playground: The True Story of the Hunt for the Most Dangerous Man Alive” that she published in 2014. On this visit she will be showcasing her newest work “Fred ‘Killer’ Burke: The Hunt for the Most Dangerous Man Alive”, which was released in November 2024, and sharing her unique insight into the gangster history of southwest Michigan.
