Van Buren Tech hosts Annual Mock Disaster

SIMULATED CRISIS… REAL-WORLD READINESS… The Annual Mock Disaster, led by Van Buren Tech, the Career and Technical Education (CTE) center of the Van Buren Intermediate School District (VBISD), showcases the power of hands-on, real-world learning through CTE. This year’s simulation on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, in Lawrence was both ambitious and immersive: a plane crash into a bustling flea market resulted in massive fires, dozens of injuries, and widespread panic. As smoke filled the air and sirens blared, CTE students sprang into action, responding to the crisis in real-time.
