What now?
There was a lot of discontent in Israel with King Saul’s rule, so when David was anointed king in his place, there were numerous warrior groups that joined themselves to David to overthrow Saul and his family when the time was right. There were specialized groups that showed up as well, skilled ambidextrous archers, for example. And evidently whole companies of left-handed warriors who David would later use as frontline, hand-in-hand combat assault troops. These would be a surprise to the opponents, because the opponents probably trained only against right-handed soldiers. A very aggressive, left-handed assault would be devastating.
