Wrong mountain
Last week’s article titled, “The steep incline”, described a pathway to the top of Kings Mountain. It actually should have been Crowders Mountain. Crowders Mountain is a part of the North Carolina State Park System, and is located not far from Kings Mountain. “The Way” up the trail ends with a large warning sign reading, “WARNING. SERIOUS INJURIES AND DEATHS HAVE OCCURRED BEYOND THIS POINT. WARNING.” You can see it on the Crowders Mountain State Park web site. It’s a beautiful place, but a dangerous place too. Standing too close to the edge can end in disaster.
