 Curtis W. Shepard, 41, of Millburg, passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2017 in Covert.

A service celebrating his life will be held at a later date. Curtis will be laid to rest at Millburg Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Humane Society of Southwest Michigan. Those wishing to sign Curtis’ guestbook may do so online at www.starks-menchinger.com.

Curtis was born September 20, 1976 in St. Louis, MO to Joe & Scarlett (Lisk) Shepard. He attended Watervliet High School. Curtis was a self-employed, skilled mechanic and electrician. He was a self-taught musician and enjoyed being a DJ for numerous events. He loved animals and going camping and golfing with his friends. Curtis was able to be everyone’s friend and will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his uncle, Robert (Shannon) Shepard of Watervliet; nieces, Brooke Ricketts, Katelyn Ricketts, Leah Fish and Faith Fish; cousin, Brad (Patty) Shepard of Niles; and his children, Steven Shepard, Haylei Shepard and Bill Shepard and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister Jessica Ricketts – Barwick on February 1, 2016.


 Donna Marie (Schroeder) Walker, 74, of Sun City, Arizona, passed away on Monday, Dec. 4, 2017 in Sun City.

Donna graduated from Watervliet High School in 1961 and went on to Parsons Business College in Kalamazoo.

She had worked for Attorney James Coleman in Watervliet from 1962-1969. Also, did part-time work for Tony Koshar, realtor of Watervliet. From 1969-1979, she lived and worked in Honolulu, Hawaii. From 1979-1985, she lived and worked in Dallas, Texas. After her marriage she worked from 1985-2009 in Phoenix. Many of her work years were in the banking field.

Donna was a very good cook and baker. She enjoyed crocheting, reading mysteries and watching old westerns on T.V. After retirement they lived in Kokomo, Indiana for brief period of time.

Survivors include her husband of Sun City, AZ; sister, Peggy (Paul) Sapp of Kokomo, IN; niece, Jeanna (Josh) Cavazos and their children Isabella, Joseph, and Noah all of Kokomo; step-son, James (Carol) Walker and their five children of Madison, Alabama.

Cremation has taken place and no public visitation or services were held.

 David C. Sweet, 87, of Hartford, passed away on January 1, 2018 at Country Side Nursing Home in South Haven.
