RICHARD G. GREEN

 Richard G. Green, 77, of Traverse City, Michigan, passed away December 27, 2016 at his home.

Dick was born on July 10, 1939 in Little Gap, PA to the late Ellis and Mary (George) Green.

Dick served his country honorably as a member of the United States Navy. On June 4, 1960 Dick married the love of his life Jane L. Peiler in Honolulu, HI.

Dick was a plant manager for United Technologies Corporation. He retired in 1996 after 30-plus years. In his spare time Dick enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a devoted member of St. Michael Lutheran Church.

Above all else Dick was a family man. He cherished his wife, adored his kids and loved spoiling his grandchildren. He was famous for doughnut Sunday. In his younger years Dick enjoyed travelling with his family to Pennsylvania and throughout the U.S. to various historical landmarks. He will be greatly missed.

Dick is survived by his wife of 56 years Jane; son Richard (Tami) Green Jr. of Bremen, Ohio; son Kevin Green of Thompsonville, MI; daughter Ann (Andy) DeHaven of Watervliet; daughter Katherine (Craig) Ryckman of Kalkaska, MI; brother Terry Green; sister Rachel Kresge; nine grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Grandpa Green’s grandchildren in the Watervliet area include Kameron (Kristy) Morris, Jerin (Jayme) DeHaven, Jaxon DeHaven, and Weston DeHaven.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents, brother Tom and granddaughter Amber.

Burial took place at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens.

JOHN DANIEL GUNN

 John Daniel Gunn, 61, of Watervliet, passed away on Monday, January 2, 2017 at home surrounded by his family.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Pastor Ed Richcreek officiating. Friends may visit with the family Friday, January 6, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Berrien County Youth Fair Poultry Barn. John was born November 28, 1955 to Clarence and Gloria (Plasko) Gunn in Watervliet, MI. He graduated from Watervliet High school, and went on to receive his associate’s degree in mechanics from Southwestern Michigan College. John married the love of his life, Diane Rendell, on January 19, 1985 in Coloma.

He worked for New Products as a hydraulic mechanic where he retired after over 30 years of service. John was a long-time member of Central Assembly of God in Coloma, where he served in many capacities the latest as a board member. He loved his Savior Jesus Christ and spent much of his retirement studying the Bible and strengthening his relationship with God and his family.

John enjoyed participating in the Berrien County Youth Fair with his daughters for many years, and continued his support of the fair as the assistant superintendent of the poultry barn. He was a handy-man and could often be found fixing things around the house. John was also an avid reader and enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time playing board games with his family and friends.

John is survived by his wife of 32 years, Diane; daughters, Lisa (Mike) DeRosa of Coloma, Shawna (Mark) Connors of Bavaria, Germany, Ashley (Donovan) Mann of Mattawan and Bethany Gunn of Watervliet; father, Clarence Gunn of St. Joseph; grandchildren, Michael and Andrew DeRosa and Preston Connors; siblings, Patti (David) Harris of Benton Harbor, Greg Gunn of Watervliet, Jim (Julie) Gunn of Watervliet and Sara (Sheldon) Oien of Wilsonville, OR; the Rendell and Schinck families and numerous nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his mother, Gloria; son, Daniel Gunn; mother-in-law Dorothy Rendell-Haliburton and fathers-in-law Miles Rendell and Bill Haliburton.



PAMELA KAY SHIMER

 Pamela Kay Shimer, 59, of Bemidji, MN passed away peacefully December 22, 2016.

She is preceded in death by her father, Clark; stepfather, Eldon; brothers, Kenneth and Roger; sister-in-law, Beth; and her nephew, Gregory.

Pam is survived by her fiance, Bill Lamphere of Bemidji, MN; sons, Zachary (Liz) Bossart of Salem, OR, and Adam (Alex) Bossart of Fort Walton Beach, FL; daughter, Amanda Bossart of Blaine, MN; six grandchildren; mother, Barbara Kroening of Watervliet; sisters, Lynn (Ray) Griffin, Jan (Clint) King, Laura Kroening of Watervliet, and Patty Shimer of Woodbridge, VA; brother, Dan (Janet) Shimer of Portland, MI;  aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Pam was born May 23, 1957 to Barbara and Clark Shimer in Augsburg, Germany while Clark was serving in the U.S. Army.

She was a 1975 graduate of Watervliet High School and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Air Force in 1980. Pam received bachelor and master’s degrees from the University of Minnesota.

Pam loved traveling and doing anything out doors, especially camping, fishing, and working in the garden. She loved to cook and held various jobs in restaurants in Bemidji, MN and Homer, AK. She dreamed of going to culinary school and opening her own restaurant on the east coast.

In accordance with Pam’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Her family held a memorial gathering to celebrate her life on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at the First Memorial Funeral Chapel in Minneapolis, MN.
