MARY BERNEICE “BEA” FELTON
Mary Berneice “Bea” Felton, 79, of Watervliet passed away January 6, 2018 at Hanson Hospice Center, Stevensville.

Bea was born May 31, 1938 in Ponchatoula, Louisiana to Elbert and Lucy (Moody) Johnson. She was a kind, loving, and independent woman who stood strong in the face of life’s hardships. After losing her husband in 1980, she entered the workforce. She enjoyed caring for the elderly, working at various locations in Eau Claire where she always met a friend.
In 1990, she began working for Berrien General Hospital. Bea retired in 2000 and cherished her many co-workers and maintained a lifetime friendship. The most important “job” she had in life was being a Foster Grandparent at the Hartford Public Schools from 2002 to 2014. Grandma Bea loved helping the children learn.
Nothing was more important to her than her family. Bea is survived by her children: Maryann (Mark) Worl of Watervliet and Darrel (Ramona) Felton Sr. of Eau Claire; grandchildren: Jason (Kari) Felton, Chad Worl, Cara Burrows, Darrel (Samantha) Felton Jr. and Thomas Felton; great-grandchild, Abby Burrows; special nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Curtis E. Felton; son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Tracey Felton; brother, Elmer (Vergie) Johnson; and sister, Velma (Rayburn) Taylor.

PHYLLIS MARIE BROTHERTON
Phyllis Marie Brotherton, age 76, of Houghton Lake, died Jan. 6, 2018, at Grayling Nursing and Rehabilitation Community in Grayling. A service was held Wednesday, Jan. 10, at Walsh Funeral Home, Roscommon. Burial will be in North Shore Memorial Gardens, Coloma.
She was born Jan. 28, 1941, at Benton Harbor, the daughter of Oral Dee and Lucille Genevieve (McKibbin) Williamson. On April 18, 1985, she and Fritz W. Brotherton were united in marriage in Kalamazoo. She had been a resident of Houghton Lake since 1997, having previously lived on a boat in South Haven for 12 years.
Mrs. Brotherton was an administrative assistant at Don Seelye Ford in Kalamazoo. She was an artist and enjoyed photography, fishing and cats.
Preceded her in death were her parents; son, Mike Kolenko; daughter, Amy Brotherton; and brother, Joe Williamson.
Survivors include her husband, Fritz Brotherton of Houghton Lake; children, Jeff Brotherton of Cleveland, OH, Bud (Kathy) Kolenko of Middleville, Scott (companion Sharon Pelligrino) Brotherton of Fairview Heights, OH, Sandy (Kip) Landry of Coopersville and Marc Kolenko of Portage; 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Larry (Joan) Williamson of Florida; and sister, Marilyn Timmons of Lawrence.

FLOSSIE L. MOSER
Flossie L. Moser, 88, formerly of Watervliet died Monday, Jan. 8, 2018 at Pine Ridge Nursing Facility in Lincoln Township.
Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 12, 2018 at Fairview Cemetery in Watervliet Township. The visitation will begin at noon on Friday at the Davidson Chapel. Flossie was born on Nov. 28, 1929 in Holland, MO to Charlie A. and Ruth “Leona” (Biggs) Barron; Flossie was one of seven children. She married Johnnie D. Moser in Corrant, MS on Oct. 16, 1945 and they moved to this area in 1955. He preceded her in death in 2004 after almost 60 years of marriage.
Flossie was employed as a production worker at the VM Corp. for 15 years. She loved to sew and cook for her family and was a homebody. Of all the things Flossie enjoyed, spending time with her family was what she cherished the most.
Her family includes her daughters, Peggy (Bill) Little of Hartford and Cathy (Johnnie) Clem of Benton Harbor; her four sisters and two grandchildren, Biff Little and Todd Little. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.
