SHIRLEY FINEHOUT

Shirley Finehout, beloved mom, Gram, great-grandma and friend, went home to be with God on Sunday, February 11, 2018. Shirley was born on August 12, 1921 and lived a long and amazing life here on this earth. Shirley Finehout is survived by two children, Betty (James) Mayes and Richard Finehout Sr.; 14 grandkids; 26 great-grandkids; and 18 great-great-grandkids along with numerous step grandkids and step great-grandkids. Shirley Finehout was preceded in death by her husband Albert Finehout, two daughters Ellen Jane Finehout and Dotty Pocevich, three stepsons Ray Finehout, John Finehout and Albert Finehout Jr. along with a grandson and great-grandson.

As much as our hearts hurt that she is no longer on this earth we celebrate knowing she is at home in heaven where love and life never ends. Shirley has touched so many lives in her 96 years on this earth. We would like to invite each and every one of you who have been touched by her to join her family in a celebration of her life. There will be a celebration of Shirley Finehout’s life on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at the Sister Lakes Community Church located at 67119 M-152, Dowagiac. A visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. with the service at 12 noon. The Sister Lakes Community Church will be proving a lunch immediately following the service. Flowers can be sent to the Sister Lakes Community Church for the service on Saturday, February 17 or donations to a charity of your choice in memory of Shirley Finehout. St. Jude Children’s Hospital is the charity that Shirley championed and donated to throughout her life.

MICKEY RAY BYRD

Mickey Ray Byrd, 66, of Coloma died Sunday, February 11, 2018 at his home. Services celebrating his life will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 15, at the Davidson Chapel of Florin Funeral Service in Coloma. Cremation will follow the service. Please share messages, memories or photos at www.florin.net. Mickey was born on Feb. 10, 1952 in Marked Tree, AR to Evan and Ola Mae Byrd. He was employed at Ausco Products for the last 38 years and was in charge of shipping and receiving. He enjoyed golf, hunting, paintball and ice fishing. He was kind hearted but enjoyed his privacy. Mickey loved to have fun and was a very fun loving individual. He was a great dad and brother to his family.

His family includes his daughters, Stacey (Anthony) Byrd-Schultz of Kansas, OK; Jessica Byrd of Nashville, TN and Michelle Byrd of Singleton, Australia; his brothers, Donald (Janice) Byrd of Coloma; Ricky Byrd of Joplin, MO and Terry (Natalie) Byrd of Watervliet; his sisters, Brenda Wilson of Hartford and Mary Wilson of Henryville, IN; his six grandchildren and his two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Linda, and his brother, Wayne.

SYLVIA JEANNENE CREST

Sylvia Jeannene Crest was born April 22, 1945 in Dell, Arkansas, the daughter of Marlin and Sylvia (Dollins) Traughber. Sylvia passed away at the age of 72 at Hanson Hospice Center in Lincoln Township on Thursday, February 8, 2018. Sylvia was formerly employed at Salutos Pizza in Benton Harbor and as a cook at the Panel Room Restaurant in Hartford. She loved watching the birds, especially hummingbirds. She had a green thumb in that she could grow anything and “she simply loved.” The family received friends on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at the Hartford Church of God, where a celebration of life service to honor Sylvia’s memory followed, with Pastor Rob Cheek officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Hanson Hospice Center. The family has entrusted the Calvin Funeral Home, Hartford, with arrangements. Sylvia is survived by two daughters, Tracy Crest of Hartford and Laura Crest of Benton Harbor; four grandchildren, Zac Crest, George Crest, Shontai (Jacob) Kuhens, and Michael (Stephanie) Fain; four great-grandchildren; and ten siblings, Charles, Verlin, Doyle, Carolyn, Jim, Jack, Rick, Nelda, Ali and Tim. Sylvia was preceded in passing by her husband Donald, a son David Crest and her parents.

JERRY W. GLOVER II

A celebration of life for Jerry W. Glover II will be held on Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018, at the home of John and Linda Sternaman, 5792 Clymer Road, Coloma, at 3:00 p.m. A dinner will follow for any who would like to come and share with the family. Jerry will be laid to rest with his father, Jerry Wayne Glover in Maple Hill Cemetery, Hartford, on Sunday, February 18. Jerry was born on July 13, 1970 in Watervliet, Michigan. He moved to Florida with his family in 1975. He passed away on December 22, 2017 in Ocoee, Florida, with his family by his side. He fought long and hard against ALS disease, (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, but this was one fight he couldn’t win.

Jerry served his country in the United States Army, Airborne Division. He loved jumping out of airplanes and once said it was the greatest thrill on earth. He worked construction after the service, operating heavy equipment and after he was force by his ALS to retire, he often said how he would love to be back in a big machine instead of being at home. He truly believed in God and knew he was going to spend eternity with his Heavenly Father and all of his earthly family who preceded him. His father, Jerry W. Glover, his grandparents, Clarence and Mary Glover and Clifford and Esther Kelly and his aunt, Alma Terry, preceded Jerry in death. He is survived by his mother, Carol Kelly Glover, sisters Leah (Michael) Francis and Kelly (Jim) Cothern, daughters Courtnee and Nicole Glover, all of Florida, his aunt Sharon (Doug) Kelly Anderson of Tennessee, Linda (John) Glover Sternaman, Coloma, and his uncles, John (Janet) Glover, Hartford and Melvin (Debbie) Glover of Bangor, niece Maranda Cothern and nephews Bryan (Cortni) Glover and Daulton Cothern and lots of cousins and 2nd cousins, all who loved him dearly.
