JACK W. TROYER Jack W. Troyer, 82, of Watervliet died Friday, Feb. 14, 2020, at the Royalton Manor Nursing Home in Royalton Township. A gathering of relatives and friends was held on Monday, Feb. 17, at the Davidson Chapel of Florin Funeral Service in Coloma. Cremation has taken place. Memorials may be given to Lewy Body Dementia Association. Please share messages, memories or photos at Jack was born on Nov. 9, 1937 in South Bend to C. Ward and Margaret Troyer. He married his wife, Linda Holland and together they have celebrated 47 years of marriage. Jack was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He retired in 1992 from the Cook Nuclear Plant where he was the stock room supervisor for 17 years. He was a life member of the NRA and the South Bend American Legion. Jack was also a member of the Watervliet Rod and Gun Club. His family includes his wife, Linda; his seven children, his many grandchildren, his many great-grandchildren and his brother.

MICHAEL ANGELO Michael Angelo, 90, of Riverside, passed away at Spectrum Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2020. A Celebration of Life Service was held Wednesday, Feb. 20 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph. Burial followed at Hagar Lakeside Cemetery. Michael was born in Benton Harbor on Nov. 22, 1929 to Antonio & Theresa (Pica) Angelo. Mike was the owner of Angelo’s Small Engines Repair in Watervliet Township. During his life, his family started the Fairplain Plaza, he was one of the original partners and he also owned Angelo’s Party/Grocery Store in Coloma among others. His favorite past time was working on his farm, sitting on his deck with his cat, watching NASCAR Races and cheering on the Detroit Tigers. He had a gift of being able to fix anything, but he could never pound a nail in straight. He is survived by three sons, Chuck (Kathy) Angelo of Benton Harbor, Tom Angelo of Benton Harbor, John (Kelly) Angelo of Benton Harbor and a daughter, Theresa Immoos; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Michael is preceded in death by his wife, Violet Angelo, daughter-in-law, Dar Angelo and son-in-law, Ron Immoos.

RICHARD J. SCHLIENZ Richard J. Schlienz, 54, of Millburg died Thursday, Feb. 13, 2020, at his home. Family services will be held at later date and cremation has taken place. Arrangements are by the Fairplain Chapel of Florin Funeral Service in Benton Township. Please share messages, memories or photos at Richard was born on July 13, 1965 in Jackson, MI to Lawrence and Mary Schlienz. He married his wife, Angelina Lazzara, and they have been together for 34 years. He was employed at B & Z Company for the last 15 years and before that at the Red & White Feed Store in Millburg for 20 years. He loved to fish in the Blue Creek and would also enjoy going up north for hunting. Richard was an energetic, caring and outgoing individual. His family includes his wife, Angelina; his children, Pamala Hoffman of Benton Harbor, Richard Lazzara of Millburg and Danyelle Eschbach of Millburg; his 14 brothers and sisters; and his seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

PAUL R. WILCOXSON Sr. Paul R. Wilcoxson Sr., 78, of Hartford, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2020 at Caretel Inns of Lakeland in St. Joseph. Paul was born September 13, 1941 in Jonesboro, Arkansas to Woodrow and Vivian (Sidenstricker) Wilcoxson, the oldest of three children. He moved to St. Joseph, Michigan with his family as a child. He worked in the grocery store business before working at Bosch Braking in Stevensville where he retired from in 1996. Paul was active in Hartford Bible Church, teaching in Sunday School, teaching in AWANA, serving on the church board as a trustee, and working in the sound system. He also delivered Meals on Wheels for over 20 years, and was active in the Gideons International. In addition, he did volunteer taxes in Benton Harbor for AARP for many years. Cremation has taken place, and a memorial service was held at Hartford Bible Church on Wednesday, Feb. 19. Memorials may be made to The Gideons International or Hartford Bible Church. The family has entrusted the Calvin Funeral Home, Hartford, with arrangements. Those wishing to leave memorial condolences for the family may do so at He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and a brother, along with a son, Paul Jr. Paul is survived by his wife of 23 years, Ruth; sons Martin Sr. (Diana) of Covert and John of Marshall; daughters, Penny (Bascom) Brown of Jackson and Liz McCrary of Paw Paw; several grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

GENEVIEVE IRENE CONKLIN Genevieve Irene Conklin (Dade), age 97, entered the presence of her Lord and Savior on Feb. 10, 2020. Born Sept. 19, 1922 in Hartford to parents Orlen and Ethel Dade, Genevieve graduated from Hartford High School in 1940. She attended Western State Teachers College where she studied secretarial skills and accounting. She worked for many years in the office of the Watervliet Foundry and later managed the office of Conklin Construction.

In 1948, she was united in marriage to Richard Ralph Conklin, who preceded her in death. Genevieve spent more than twenty years as a volunteer for Community Hospital, Watervliet, was a life member of the Hartford Garden Club, enjoyed volunteering for many charitable organizations, attended Hartford United Methodist Church and most recently St. Michael Lutheran Church in Portage. She is survived by her beloved son, Richard (Carol), precious granddaughter Katelyn, cousin Arlene Ward, niece Lynne (Dan) Farmer, nephew David Conklin and several great nieces and nephews. She was a second mother to many in the community. The family is grateful for the care and friendship provided by Joanne Evans, Denise Hopson, Matt Gross and Kathy Cowgill these past few years. Genevieve’s heartfelt compassion and beautiful way of making every individual to feel special was indeed a blessing to so many. She will be remembered for her smile, her love of flowers, devotion to family and her generous spirit. Please join the family in celebrating her life on Saturday, Feb. 22, beginning at 11 a.m., at the Hartford Methodist Church, 425 East Main St., Hartford. A luncheon will immediately follow.
