RAYMOND THOMAS STEINHAUS Raymond Thomas Steinhaus, 71, of Watervliet passed away peacefully on Friday, May 10, 2019 at Spectrum Health Lakeland in St. Joseph. He was born October 28, 1947 to Clarence and Rita (Clark) Steinhaus in Watervliet. After graduating from Coloma High School in 1966, Ray worked at the Watervliet Paper Company until it closed. He married the love of his life, Linda Jean (Waits) Steinhaus, on May 23, 1970. Ray started Ray’s Towing in 1995 and grew it into Rays Towing and Auto Repair as it is known today. After Ray retired, his son, Jeffrey Thomas Steinhaus, continues to run Rays legacy as owner and operator. Ray loved his 1945 Love and 1949 John Deere AW tractors; his dog, Benny; spending time on the family farm in LeRoy MI and with Michigan Flywheelers in South

Haven. Most of all, Ray deeply loved his wife of 49 years, Linda; son, Jeffrey (Lynn) Steinhaus; grandchildren, Sumner, Blake, Amber & Charley; brother, Clark (Bev) Steinhaus; sister-in-law, Delores Steinhaus; niece, Alison; nephew, Scott; cousins, Miriam, Milie and Cheri all of Texas; Dan Woodruff and all of his LeRoy Michigan family. He was preceded by his parents and brother, Robert Steinhaus. A Celebration of Life will be held at Michigan Flywheelers in South Haven at a later date. EVELYN MARIE MILLER Evelyn Marie Miller, 81 of Hartford, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, May 10, 2019 at Ascension Borgess Hospital, Kalamazoo. Evelyn was born November 21, 1937 in Dowagiac, the daughter of Joseph and Alvina (Alexis) Morsaw, both of whom precede her in passing. She is also preceded in passing by her husband, Glynn Miller Sr. on October 19, 1993 and three siblings: Cardinal Joseph Morsaw, Betty Castanon and Josephine Griffith.

Evelyn graduated from Hartford High School in 1955. She was formerly employed as a paraprofessional with Hartford Public Schools. She was a faithful member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Hartford, where she served on the Altar & Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary and the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians, where she was active in the elders. In her spare time, she enjoyed attending Senior Services lunches, going to the casino and watching WWE wrestling with her grandson, where she knew them all by name. Her most important times were spent with family, staying constantly active in their lives, especially her grandchildren. Evelyn leaves behind three children: Sheri (Robert) Dick of Lawrence, Glynn Jr. (Barbara) Miller of Berrien Springs, John (Angela) Miller of Hartford; grandchildren: Robert Dick Jr., Daniel Dick, Hanna and Nicholas Miller, Sean Miller, Kathryn Miller, Isabella Miller and Steven Miller; a brother, Arthur (Cathy) Morsaw of Hartford and many other family members. The family welcomed friends Monday, May 13 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Hartford, where the Mass of Christian Burial to honor her memory was celebrated Tuesday, May 14. Father German Perez-Diaz and Deacon Arthur Morsaw served as celebrants. Burial followed in Maple Hill Cemetery, Hartford. The family requests memorial donations in Evelyn’s name be made to either the church or to a Catholic Church of the donor’s choice. PATRICIA KLISS Patricia’s life began March 18, 1937 in Detroit. She lived most of her life in the Detroit area and was a nurse at Holy Cross in Detroit for more than 35 years. Upon retiring in 2002 Patricia and her husband LeRoy moved to Watervliet. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, playing bingo, was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Watervliet and a member of their Altar and Rosary Society. Patricia’s greatest joy came from spending time with her loving family which includes two sons, Lawrence Kliss and David (Claire) Kliss both of Watervliet; a sister Nancy (Al) Sleyter of Canton, Michigan, a niece Donna Abercrombie, and two nephews Mike (Angela) Sleyter and Mark Sleyter. Patricia died Thursday, May 9, at Caretel Inns of Lakeland in St. Joseph. Her husband LeRoy Kliss and parents Harry and Helen (Sponski) Bahorski precede Patricia in death. Patricia has been cremated and Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, May 18, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Watervliet.
