VERA STINEMAN ROWLEE
Vera Stineman Rowlee formerly of Watervliet passed away peacefully May 30, 2017 at Woodland Terrace of Paw Paw Lake in Coloma.
Vera was born March 29, 1925 to Clayton and Ruth (Moore) Garrison. She made her home in Watervliet most of her adult life. Vera loved music and in her early years sang on a local radio station. Her hobbies were playing the harmonica or her ukulele while she sang her favorite songs. She also loved to dance but her favorite thing to do was read. Later in life she was a certified caregiver for Elder Care in their homes. She later became a state licensed child caregiver for local children for 14 years.
Vera is survived by a son, Ronald (Joyce) Stineman of Watervliet; a daughter, Janet (Jack) Sperbeck of Saint Joseph; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Vera was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Howard T. Stineman, her second husband Clarence (Curley) Rowlee, half-sister Melba Lloyd, stepson Howard D. Stineman Jr., and step-granddaughter Linda Kenyon, also her beautiful Siamese cat, Boomer.
In respect of her request there was a private family graveside service at her final resting place at the Watervliet Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to Hutchins Funeral Home of Watervliet.
David LaGrow of Coloma died Tuesday, June 20, at Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville.
David’s life began March 3, 1949 in Benton Heights, Michigan. He grew up in Coloma, graduating from Coloma High School. David worked as an insurance salesman for Western & Southern Life Insurance; he also was an owner and operator of semi-trucks and heavy equipment. Most recently he had owned Ageing Builders until retirement.
David enjoyed filling his free time fishing, gardening and gaming on PS4 online with his grandchildren.
His greatest joy was his loving family which includes: his wife of 49 years Linda (Lenz) LaGrow; four children Michelle (Bill) Wycoff of Clarkston, MI, Holly Thibeault (Bob Marvin) of Watervliet, David (Cindy) LaGrow of Coloma, and Kimberly Williams of Hamilton, MI; 10 grandchildren Victoria, Ryan, Samantha, Jordan, Olivia, Maurissa, Miles, Abigail, G. Caleb, and Isabelle; eight siblings; and many nieces and nephews.
His parents Ervin and Jean (Kranich) LaGrow and five siblings precede David in death. At David’s request his family will gather privately to celebrate his life. His family wishes to extend their gratitude to Hanson Hospice Center for their support in his final days. Memorials may be made in David’s memory to Hanson Hospice Center.
