JOHN D. LATSCH

John D. Latsch, 68, of Hagar Shores died Saturday, July 2, 2017 at his residence.

Graveside services celebrating his life were held on Friday, July 7, at the Lakeshore Hagar Cemetery on Eaman Road in Hagar Township.  Memorials may be made to the family. John was born on June 10, 1949 in Muskegon to John and Olive Latsch.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.  John was a lieutenant in the Watervliet Police Department and more recently had worked at Gast Manufacturing before retiring.  He enjoyed fishing and hunting.  John was quite humorous and loved to laugh and tell jokes.

His family includes his children, Christine (Grant) Nash of Coloma, Kirk (Sabrina) Latsch of Riverside, and Kelly Latsch of Coloma; his sisters, Patsy (John) Briggs of Coloma and Terri (Bob) Knight of South Haven; his four grandchildren, Kelsey, Miranda, Nicholas, and Jacqueline; his close friends, Dave and Diane Morrow of Coloma and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and his son, Craig.

DENNIS M. HARRIS

 Dennis M. Harris, 55, of Coloma passed away Friday, July 7, 2017 at Lakeland Medical Center in St. Joseph surrounded by family.

Services celebrating his life were held Monday, July 10 at Duffield & Pastrick Family Funeral Home in Coloma. Cremation took place following the service. Memorial donations in Dennis’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Humane Society of Southwest Michigan. Dennis was born November 16, 1961 in Benton Harbor to Richard and Viola (Wheeler) Harris. He was a mechanic for 32 years at Harris Trucking until their closing in 2006. Following that he was employed for eight years by Kalin Construction. In his free time Dennis customized his Big Blue Truck. He also enjoyed spending time up north hunting, fishing, riding 4-wheelers, camping, and spending time with his kids and grandkids.

Dennis is survived by his wife Brenda whom he married October 11, 1980; four daughters, Arica (Bryan) Angelo of Watervliet, Christin (George) Smith of Coloma, Kayla (Randy) Wells of Watervliet, and Monica (Dorian Eskridge) Harris of Buchanan. Also surviving is his father Richard Harris; two brothers, Richard (Madeleine) Harris and Donald (Karen) Harris; five grandchildren, Jordyn, Alysse, and Kaitlyn Angelo, Addison Wells, and James Smith, along with several nieces, great nieces and nephews and many close friends.

Dennis was preceded in death by his mother Viola and step-mother Sheila.

ANNETTE M. KUCHARSKI

 In the year 2017 on the 9th day of July the beautiful and courageous Annette Mary Kucharski left her earthly body and walked fearlessly and joyfully through the gates of heaven into the loving arms of her Lord and savior Jesus Christ.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 500 W. St. Mary Street, Decatur with Father Michael Rejent officiating. Burial will follow at Harrison Cemetery in Decatur. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of Frank Kucharski. Annette was born May 3, 1944, in Chicago, IL to Clarke and Ann Holfman. On May 4, 1963, she married the love of her life and soul mate Frank Kucharski. In 1975 Annette and Frank moved to Decatur where they raised their family.

She enjoyed driving a school bus for Decatur Public Schools and working as a secretary at Big Valley Cold Storage.

Annette’s greatest joy was her family. Although Annette endured MS for over 40 years she never let any pain, discomfort or hurdle come before her children and grandchildren. Her only complaint was MS took away her ability to logistically and physically care for her family, but her love and emotional support knew no bounds.

Remaining to honor and continue Annette’s legacy of strength, grace and love is her husband Frank Kucharski; sons, Anthony (Susan) of Hartford, Michael (Melissa) of Mattawan, Frank Kucharski Jr. of Grand Rapids and Christopher (Alisha) of Jenison, MI; grandchildren, Anthony, Holly, Andrew, Michael, Jeffrey, Jasmine, Nicholas, Jake, Johnny, Makenna and two step-grandchildren Alicia and Joshua; siblings Dr. Clark (Judith) Holfman of Buena Vista, CA, Linda Byer of Harwood Heights, IL and Joan Holfman of Red Oak, TX.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and daughter-in-law Janet Kucharski and brother-in-law Pete Byer.

BILLIE BON THERRIAN

 Billie Bon Therrian, 82, joined our Lord on June 18, 2017 at her vacation home in Winter Garden, Florida.  Billie was born on August 29, 1934 in Truman, Arkansas to Jesse Marcus and Ester Anna Foster, who   preceded her in death, along with her two brothers, Jesse “Buck” and Bobby “Jerry” Foster, as well as her two husbands Mac Moss and Milton Therrian.

In 1952, Billie and Mac celebrated the birth of her only child, Michael D. Moss, and moved to Michigan.  Michigan has since remained home, where Billie was well-known to so many as a strong, hard-working, attentive family matriarch.

She is survived by her son Mike, four grandchildren: Linette Ford, Andrea Carr, Michaela Moss and Michael J. Moss, and three wonderful great-grandsons: Justin Ford and John & Gabriel Carr.  She is also survived by her loving companion of the last 27 years, Walter Cummings.  Services will be held at North Shore Memorial Gardens in Coloma on Saturday, July 15 at 10 a.m., with a celebration of life immediately to follow (around noon) at Chief’s Bar & Grill in Millburg.  In lieu of flowers, please make donations to 4 Paws for Ability, providing service dogs to disabled veterans and children: http://4pawsforability.org/

KATHLEEN P. RAMSEY

 Kathleen P. Ramsey, 97, of Watervliet died peaceful on Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at her home.

Kathleen was born on September 10, 1919 in Benton Harbor to George and Bernice Hitchcock. She married her husband, Virgil Ramsey, and he preceded her in death in 1996. She was a homemaker and lived in this area her entire life. Her favorite hobby was crocheting.

Her family includes her sisters, Marion Martin of Gobles, Geraldine Frazier of Watervliet, Georgia Coon of Morris, MI and Jean Gauthier of Gobles; her brother, Donald Hitchcock of San Bernardino, CA, and her many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Gerald and Raymond, and her sisters, Sharon Thole and Dorothy Olofson.
