MARGARET “MARNIE” WEBER

 Margaret “Marnie” Weber, 95, of St. Joseph died Monday evening, October 10, 2016 at her home.  Services celebrating her life where held on Monday, October 17, at the St. Joseph First Congregational Church with Rev. Dr. Robert Braman officiating.  Burial of the ashes will be in Crystal Springs Cemetery and cremation has taken place.  Marnie was born on June 2, 1921 in Chicago, IL to Earl and Abby Holland.  She married her husband, Walter Weber, in 1944 and he preceded her in 1992.  Together they celebrated 48 years of marriage.  Marnie attended Bryn Mawr College for 2 years and then graduated from Michigan State University. She was a school teacher for over 35 years and spent over 20 years teaching 4th grade in the Coloma School System before retiring.  She was a member of the St. Joseph First Congregational Church.  Marnie enjoyed playing bridge at the Senior Center, sewing, cooking and was an avid gardener.  She also enjoyed meeting with her teacher friends from Coloma.  Marnie was an optimistic and fun person who was active up until the last day.  Her family includes her daughters, Cindy Courtright of St. Joseph and Tish Weber of Kalamazoo; her 2 grandchildren, Zack (Sarah) Courtright and Jennifer (Erik) Cook and her 13 great grandchildren.  Memorials may be made to the Sarett Nature Center.  Arrangements are by the Florin Funeral Service.  983-1514.
