CHARLES “CHUCK” REED

 Charles “Chuck” Reed, 67, of Coloma died Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at the Select Specialty Hospital in Battle Creek.  Services celebrating his life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15, at the Red Arrow General Baptist Church, 3176 Red Arrow in Benton Harbor.  Cremation has taken place and burial of the ashes will be at North Shore Memory Gardens.  Arrangements are by the Davidson Chapel of Florin Funeral Service in Coloma.  Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Disabled American Veterans.  Chuck was born on May 24, 1949, in Lake Providence, LA to Pete and Dora Reid.  He was a veteran of the Vietnam War in the US Army.  Chuck married his wife, Linda Ross, and together they have celebrated 45 years of marriage.  He was the Superintendant at North Shore Memory Gardens for 43 years before his retirement in 2014.  Chuck was a member of the Red Arrow General Baptist Church and the Coloma Masonic Lodge #362.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing and more recently spending time with his grandchildren.  He also enjoyed going to breakfast with his honorary son, Dave Reid.  Chuck was a caring and loving husband, father, and grandfather and was a friend to everyone.  His family includes his wife, Linda; his daughters, Kourtney (Jason) Kenney of Coloma and Kara Reed of Coloma; his honorary son, Dave Reid; his brothers, Rickey (Marge) Reid of Largo, FL and Jimmie (Shirley) Reid of Holland; and his grandchildren, Thomas Morgan, Matthew Morgan and Kelley Nelson.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Steve Reid and Ron Reid and his sister, Laura Reid.
