Police urge residents to lock their vehicles
Between November 1, 2016 and November 10, 2016, the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office investigated approximately 40 larceny from motor vehicle incidents. These occurred primarily in the areas of Berrien Township, Hagar Township, Watervliet Township, Buchanan Township, and Royalton Township.
In the vast majority of these incidents, which occurred during the night time hours, the vehicles were left unlocked by the owners and small personal items along with money was taken.
The Berrien County Sheriff’s Office is reminding residents to lock their vehicles whenever the vehicle is unattended.
The Sheriff’s Office is also requesting the citizens and visitors of our county to report any suspicious activity they observe to the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office, the Michigan State Police, or their local agency.
