KATHLEEN PATRICE DAVIS
Kathleen Patrice Davis, 60 of McEwen, Tennessee, who grew up in St. Joseph and lived in Lawrence and Holland, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2017 in Tennessee.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Friday, December 15, 2017 at The Boyd Chapel of Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, 9191 Red Arrow Highway, Bridgman. Friends may meet with the family from 2 p.m. Friday until the time of the service. Online condolences accepted at www.PikeFH.com.
Kathy was born September 1, 1957 in St. Joseph, the daughter of Robert and Nancy (Bayles) Lawrence. She was a nurse for many years at Watervliet Community Hospital and had also worked at Holland Hospital in Holland.
Kathy was a wonderful mother, sister, and daughter. She enjoyed road trips, writing letters to her daughters, music and dancing, gardening, bike-riding, camping, hiking, star gazing, beach going, and communing with nature.
Survivors include daughters: Juanita Nagai and granddaughter Hinata Joy of Osaka, Japan; daughter Jenifer Davis of Vancouver, Canada; mother Nan Blake of Arizona; father Robert Lawrence of Virginia; sisters Lisa Hill and Melissa Lawrence both of Arizona, and Diana Gabriel and Vici Lawrence both of Michigan.
Kathy was preceded in death by her brother, Jeffrey Lawrence.
RUSSELL DEE CHAPPEL
Russell Dee Chappel, 90, passed away at 12:26 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2017 in Lakeland Hospital, Niles.
Russell was born on Nov. 25, 1927, in Clarkton, MO to the late John H. and Viola M. (Conway) Chappel. On January 16, 1960, Russell married Dessie Pearl (East) and she passed away on March 2, 2014. He was also preceded in death by his step-father, John “Jack” Jones; son, Paul Chappel; brother, John “Jay” Chappel; and sisters, Imogene Straw, and Betty Sias.
Russell is survived by his sons, Steven (Margie) Chappel of Watervliet and Kenneth (Ruth Thornton) Chappel of Coloma; daughter, Patricia (Michael) Herman of Niles; grandchildren, Russell Chappel, David Chappel, Tom Herman, Jennifer Dinges, and Stephanie Stacey; and five great-grandchildren.
Russell honorably served his country in the Army Air Corp from 1945 to 1948 and was stationed in British Guiana in South America. He reenlisted in the Army from 1949 to 1952 and served as a Staff Sergeant in Berlin, Germany. He retired from Clark Equipment in Buchanan after 24 years of service. He enjoyed bowling.
Cremation will take place with private burial in Keeler Cemetery. Halbritter Wickens Funeral Home, Niles is assisting the family.
