ALMA L. JANNEY



Alma L. Janney, 79, of Hagar Township died on Monday, Jan. 16, 2023, at her home.

Family service will be held at a later date and cremation has taken place. Arrangements are by the Davidson Chapel of Florin Funeral Service in Coloma. Please share messages or memories at www.florin.net.

Alma was born on May 28, 1943, in Benton Harbor to Benjamin and Emma Baldwin. She graduated, after taking some time off from school, from Coloma High School with her daughter.

She married Robert “Bob” Janney and together they celebrated 30 years of marriage. Before she died there were five generations in her family.

Alma retired in 2016 after 14 years of employment from Midwest Timer where she was an assembler. Before being employed at Midwest Time she was employed at Shepherd Casters.

Alma was an avid bowler and a member of the team called the “Mystery Machine.” She also enjoyed going to the casinos with her sisters. She loved their cottage in Pentwater and enjoyed the days in the summer when she was there. Alma will be missed by her family and friends.

Her family includes, her husband, Bob; her children, Vickie Doggett of Benton Harbor, Dee Hanners of Eau Claire, Lisa (Rob) Schroder of Coloma, Erik Doggett of Watervliet and Holly (Matt) Wilson of Michigan City, IN; her sisters, Marilyn Floyd of Baroda, Millie Pullins of Benton Harbor, Maggie Johnson of Watervliet, and Edie Rose of Hagar Shores; her brother, Richard Freemyer of Benton Harbor; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
