Bainbridge Township board approves North Berrien Historical Society Millage on August 2026 Ballot; sends letter of support to Hagar Township

Bainbridge Township Supervisor Andy Gardiner called the Monday, March 9 business meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. All members of the board were in attendance. The meeting opened with a public hearing on the 2026-2027 budget. The board approved the budget in the opening minutes and the hearing closed.
In new business, the board heard from representatives from the North Berrien Historical Society regarding their Millage Proposal for operating the museum. Executive Director Peter Cook and Museum Board Secretary Cindy Young attended the township meeting to talk about what the museum does and what the millage has helped fund. The board approved the renewal of the millage for the next four years to be placed on the township’s ballot for the August 4, 2026 primary election.
Another item under new business was a letter of support for Hagar Township’s application for the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund. The fund would go toward the construction of permanent restroom facilities at Hagar Park allowing ADA compliant restroom facilities to help with accessibility. It was approved by the board to send the letter of support.
