BEVERLY A. WILLMING


Beverly A. Willming, 80, of Coloma passed away Saturday, Dec. 10, 2022 while at the Hanson Hospice Center, located in Stevensville.

Beverly was born in Coloma on Dec. 3, 1942 to Clarence and Marion June Danneffel (Decker). She had lived her entire life in the Coloma / Watervliet area.

Beverly graduated from Coloma High School in 1961. She married Frank Willming Jr. later that same year. They had four children together.

Since her youth, she previously attended the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Coloma.

Beverly worked and retired from the Berrien County Health Department. She worked in the Health Clinic department and the Michigan Children’s Special Needs program. Many parents and children were fond of her because of her compassion and helpful assistance. She was also proud union steward representative with the county.

Before working with the county health department, Beverly was employed at the North Berrien Senior Center in Coloma. She had friendships with attendee’s while working there as a secretary and volunteer coordinator. After her retirement, she was also a receptionist and gift shop clerk at Krasl Art Center in St. Joseph. She also worked at the Watervliet Public Library.

Beverly was a mother to one daughter and three sons. She would jokingly say that her favorite hobby was laundry. She enjoyed going to movies and watching TV shows involving Tom Selleck or Bruce Willis who she would jokingly refer to as her boyfriends. Beverly enjoyed watching her kids participate in their school functions and extra-curricular activities. She especially liked the summer cookouts and being with family and friends, especially celebrating Christmas and Halloween holidays. She always had a fondness of her travels going up north in Michigan with her family.

Beverly will be greatly missed. She is survived by her four children: Richard (Christina) Willming, Michael (Susan) Willming, Barbara (Michael) Demonja and John Willming; her five grandchildren, Brittany Willming, Rebecka Willming, Gabrielle Ezell, Rachelle Willming and Ryan Willming; and her two great-grandchildren, Addisyn Willming and Josiah Jordan.

She is preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Marion June Danneffel, her uncle David Sweet who she lovingly referred to as her brother and friend, and her beloved childhood dog Skipper.

A private graveside service was held on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2022 at Fairview Memorial Cemetery in Watervliet. She was laid to rest next to her parents.
