“Letter to
Ginny ... gifts of age”
(continued from 12-11-2025)
Dearest Ginny,
Your birthday letter this year comes in two installments, one before and one after the actual date - April 7. So I hope your celebration was a happy one; am sure it included western and line dancing in your favorite spot and hope they all sang ‘‘Happy Birthday” to you.
Knowing you, I’m sure you don’t mind sharing this epistle on aging with the “millions” of readers served by the Tri-City Record because you have always been interested in the problems of aging and passing on health tidbits. When sister Allene was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, her last illness, you took the time to copy and send off all you could find on this disease, for which they still have little knowledge of cause or cure. Even now, with your avocation of distributing Golden Pride food supplements, you spread counsel and advice from which I, too, have benefitted. It amazes me how you keep up your job in the MSU Housing & Foods Department and still do these other things! |
So, I will continue reviewing Gifts of Age by Charlotte Painter and Pamela Valois, which you didn’t get to read before you gave it to me at Christmas. Some of the ideas given by these 32 wise women I feel are worth passing on to young ones like yourself as well as those really mature ... like me.
