Back to the simple life in Florida
… from the simple life in Michigan. There, my two-bath cottage of 40-year-ago vintage, with its antique smell of old furniture and its screened-in porch where I ate most meals, was comfortable during our hot summer with two borrowed fans and the huge shade trees. It boasted no swimming pool but Paw Paw Lake was right across the road.
My condo here at Golfview is not all that different … a slightly more spacious, screened lanai; a second bath which is seldom used except the few times I have company. The window in my bedroom looks over the manicured small golf course and manmade lakes, which contain several of my golf balls, deposited the few times I have braved the water crossings. Here I type on the same machine I typed on in the corner of my summer living room. Hearing of all the rains in the Ft. Myers area, I was glad I had pulled porch furniture inside. Being on the second floor, there were no water problems; and a nice breeze, with fans, makes air conditioning rarely necessary. The swimming pool here is about as many steps as Paw Paw Lake was and that is my chief indulgence of the day, the favorite time being sunset.
