BRIAN J. PETERSON

Brian James Peterson, 67, passed away from COVID-19 complications on Saturday, June 24, 2023, in the company of his wife, Heather Peterson, and daughter, Kelsea Lange.

Brian absolutely loved his job at Countryside Academy Lower Elementary, in Millburg, where he did maintenance and custodial work since 2016. You could see the pride on his face when he would recant stories about his kids helping him around the school and celebrating their victories and accomplishments.

In his free time, Brian could always be counted on by friends and family to enthusiastically help with odd projects, big and small. If he wasn’t busy putzing around the garage, he could be found on any of the area golf courses.

Brian was preceded in death by his daughter, Tori Peterson; his parents: Roger and Wilma (Erickson) Peterson; and sisters: Janyce Davidson, Terri Moore, and Rogene Plummer

Brian is survived by his wife, Heather Peterson of Watervliet; children: Kaitlyn Carey of Grand Rapids, Kelsea Lange of Kalamazoo, and Corbin Peterson of Watervliet; and brother, Brad (Linda) Peterson of Benbrook, Texas.

Brian’s family is honoring his wishes of not having a service. In lieu of memorials, his family asks that donations be made in his name to Countryside Academy Elementary. The family has entrusted the Calvin Funeral Home, Hartford, with arrangements. Those wishing to leave condolences may do so at http://www.calvin-leonardfh.com.
