CAROL LEROY PARKER

Carol Leroy Parker, 89, of Hartford passed away Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2021, at home.

Carol was born March 1, 1932, in Holcomb, MO, the son of Raymond and Una Marie (Jackson) Parker, both of whom precede him in passing. Also preceding him in passing are his loving wife of nearly 70 years, Ruby on July 11, 2019; a daughter, Debra Whipple; and two brothers: Willie Parker and Larry Parker.

Carol served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked at Rudy Manufacturing of Dowagiac, before retiring from the Watervliet Paper Mill. He loved traveling and especially sports, where he enjoyed coaching youth baseball and men’s softball. But his most precious times were spent with his family, whom he loved and who will miss him dearly.

Carol is survived by two sons: Mike (Debbie) Parker and Mark (Christine) Parker; a daughter, Kimberly (JD) Conner; grandsons: Justin Jonns, Joshua Parker, Mike Parker Jr., Ben Chambers, Brad Parker, Andy Chambers, Jeremy Parker and Andrew Parker; granddaughters: Ashley Hauch and Alexa Parker; 20 great-grandchildren (and one on the way); one great-great-grandchild; and a sister, Juanita Radcliff.

As per Carol’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and the family will host a private family gathering to honor him at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his name may be made to Caring Circle Hospice. The family has entrusted the Calvin Funeral Home, Hartford, with arrangements.
