Coloma City held their regular bi-monthly commission meeting on Monday, June 8, 2026. All commissioners were present.
Mayor Marsha Hammond let everyone know that they have hired three kids from school for summer help. Each one is brand new and has never worked for the city before. So this will take a little time to get them up to speed. But they are happy with each one so far. She thinks they will be a great fit. Also, the city had an intern last year while he was attending high school through the co-op program. He recently turned 18 and due to Michigan law, they have to offer him the minimum wage pay scale. Both the hiring of three new workers and increasing the wages of the current worker was voted on and supported.
Todd Bohle, Coloma Public Works Supervisor, reported that the Norma Jean Somers Splash Pad at Randall Park is up and running right. They added a patch of concrete that was needed. Boyle is working on getting the new staff trained and is impressed with each of them.
