Coloma Community Schools’ new staff and policy changes will have a positive impact on the 2024-2025 school year

At the regularly scheduled meeting of the Coloma Community Schools Board of Education on Monday, Aug. 12, 2024, Superintendent Dave Ehlers reported that final back-to-school preparations will begin this week for staff and students. Eighteen new teachers will formally be welcomed to the district on Thursday, Aug. 15. Students are invited to the backpack giveaway event that evening.

Sara Ashley, Director of Business Services, shared that teachers will be receiving an increase in pay, plus changes in the salary steps that will be financially beneficial to the teaching staff. The total Coloma Education Association (CEA) salary agreement package comes at a cost of $372,000. Ashley also explained changes in the support staff handbook that will have a positive effect on the pay scale for van and bus drivers in the district.
