Della Rose Veit, 76, of Coloma, passed away Sunday, June 29, 2025, at her residence.
A service celebrating her life will be held 3 p.m. Thursday, July 3 at Duffield & Pastrick Family Funeral Home in Coloma where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Coloma Cemetery. Donations in memory of Della may be made to the North Berrien Senior Center. Della was born July 12, 1948, in Benton Harbor to Johnie and Lois Roberts. She was a member of Twelve Corners Community Church, the Rebekahs Odd Fellow Lodge, and a graduate of Benton Harbor High School. In her free time she enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, and participating in various Civil War Reenactments across the United States with her husband Richard “Abe Lincoln” Veit.
Della is survived by her husband Richard, whom she married June 12, 1969, in Benton Harbor, two sons; William Richard Veit III of Coloma and Christopher Ray Veit of Niles. Also surviving are her sisters and brother; Linda Brodsky of Merrit Island, FL, Ken Roberts of San Antonio, TX, Karen Davis of Great Falls, MT, Bonnie Ham of Benton Harbor, two granddaughters; Jarica and Amy Veit, and four great-grandchildren; Jordan, Jessica, Nova, and Asher.
In addition to her parents, Della was preceded in death by a son John in 1995.
