Donald E. Byrd, 77, of Coloma, died Friday, Aug. 25, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Services celebrating his life were held on Wednesday, Aug. 30, at the Davidson Chapel of Florin Funeral Services in Coloma. Burial followed in Coloma Cemetery. Please share memories or messages at www.florin.net.
Don was born on Dec. 3, 1945 in Marked Tree, AR to John and Ola Mae Byrd. He married his wife, Nora Janice, and together they had 31 years of marriage. He was very mechanically inclined and was employed by Hull Lift Truck Co. for over 35 years.
Don enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating and spending time with family. He loved fixing and tinkering with things. Don was a stoic individual but was a strong man both physically and emotionally. He cared about his family and was the rock of the family.
His family includes his wife, Nora Janice; his children, Tracy (Joe) Baltazar of Watervliet, Angie Valdez of Coloma, Donald (Shannon) Byrd of Watervliet, and Brandon (Kira) Byrd of Sharpsburg, GA; his two brothers, Terry (Natalie) Byrd of Watervliet and Ricky Byrd of Joplin, MO; his 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
