Expanding rural broadband

One of the most common concerns I have heard from constituents over the past few years has been a lack of broadband internet access in rural areas throughout our state. Between Berrien, Allegan, and Van Buren counties, this issue affects many constituents living in and around my Senate District. There are several strategies that we can use to help address this issue from the state level, whether we look at direct funding or lowering the costs associated with installing high-speed fiber infrastructure. In the last legislative session, I sponsored and supported legislation to tackle this from both sides.
