Frank A. Nemethy, 90, of Coloma died Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2023 at the Corewell Health Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph.
Services celebrating Frank’s life were held on Monday, Oct. 16, at the Davidson Chapel of Florin Funeral Service, in Coloma. Burial followed at North Shore Memory Gardens where Military Honors will be given by the North Berrien Military Team. Please share memories or messages at www.florin.net.
Frank was born on April 14, 1933 in Benton Harbor to Alex and Mary Nemethy. He was a member of the Air Force during the Korean War. He was employed as a Line Repairman for Michigan Bell Telephone before his retirement after 37 years. Frank married his wife, Marilyn, and together they have celebrated 63 years of marriage. He enjoyed gardening, farming, tree trimming, hunting, scenic drives, tinkering in his garage, big band music, and polka dancing. Frank never met a stranger. But nothing was more important to him than his family.
His family includes his wife, Marilyn; his children, Alex (Dee) Nemethy of New Hampshire, Heidi Shamp of Coloma, Andrew (Tonya) Nemethy of Coloma and Jennifer (Curtis) Smith of North Ft. Meyers, FL; his grandchildren, Nick, Tori, Ashley, Hunter, Jeremy, Zachary, Brandii, and Amber; and his eight great-grandchildren, Liam, Easton, Jacob, Riley, Aiden, Cooper, Willow, and Warren. Also a special mention of Roy Cooper, “a brother from another mother.”
Frank was preceded in death by his parents; his grandsons, Joshua and Ryan; and his brothers and sisters, Joseph, Helen, Earl, Maryann, Nancy, and Robert.
