Gary A. Hardy, 81 of Coloma, passed away on July 11, 2026, at Corewell Health Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph.

Gary was born Aug. 23, 1944 in St. Joseph to William and Anna (Zoborosky) Hardy. He graduated from St. Joseph High School and went into the Air Force as a photographer during the Vietnam War. Following his time in the service, Gary was a carpenter for the local Carpenters Union #451. Growing up, he was a natural around Lake Michigan, always snorkeling and swimming which grew into a love for fishing, hunting and anything outdoors. Gary was a member at Indian Hills Golf Club, golfing on a league once a week. In the park where Gary and Leona live, he was known as the door man being able to fix anything even though he had long retired.
Gary is survived by his wife Leona, whom he married May 26, 1979; his children Kali (Eric) Heib, Deborah Hardy, Deirdre (John) Snow, James (Jeanette) Hardy, Glen (Konnie) Hardy and Michael (Amy) Elston, and numerous wonderful grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his step-daughter Cristene Snow and brother William Ronald Hardy.
