
Gaylon L. Moss, 86, of Watervliet passed away Monday, Nov. 29, 2021 at Caretel Inns St. Joseph.
Services were held Wednesday, Dec. 8 at Duffield & Pastrick Family Funeral Home in Coloma. Burial followed at North Shore Memory Gardens. Gaylon was born August 25, 1935 in Cardwell, Missouri to Cletis and Flora (White) Moss. He moved from Cardwell to Covert in 1952, graduating from Covert High School in 1955. On June 23, 1956 he married Ruth Ann Terry.
Gaylon worked for Modern Plastics in Benton Harbor until 1967 when he accepted a supervisor position at Birmingham Plastics in Birmingham, MI. He also had been employed at Regal Finishing, Berrien Real Estate, and was the owner of the Plaza Motel in Watervliet. Gaylon was a member of the New Day Church in Watervliet and, in his younger days, was a volunteer Fire Fighter for Watervliet during the 1960s.
Survivors include his son David (Penny) Moss of Paw Paw; two daughters, Cynthia (Andrew) Snyder of Kalamazoo, and Laura (Michael) Hyden of Swansboro, NC. Also surviving is a sister, Londa Wines of Bangor; a brother, Richard (Corda) Moss of Decatur; five grandchildren, Thomas (Ashley) Kolenko, David O’Neill, Rachel Hyden, Elijah (Gabriella) Hyden, Breaunna Moss; two great-grandchildren, Ariella and Camden Kolenko, and his companion Mary Fortune.
In addition to his parents, Gaylon was preceded in death by a sister, Edwina Watkins.
