GERALD E. PARRIGIN

Gerald E. Parrigin, 83, of Coloma, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at his home.

Private family services are being held with burial following in Coloma Cemetery. Those wishing to leave an online message for the family may do so at www.duffieldpastrick.com.

Gerald was born July 9, 1940 in Russell, AR to Cleveland and Myrtle (Redman) Parrigin. He served in the United States Army being stationed in Germany and married his wife Jackie on Feb. 17, 1965.

Gerald worked for over 50 years for Priebe Brothers Oil and Priebe Transport. He continued to work for PriMar Petroleum for many years after his retirement and was the former owner of Jackie’s Restaurant and Gerald’s Garage. Gerald was a family man above all else, whether it was never missing basketball games for his kids and grandkids or spending time with his beloved wife Jackie at their cabin up north. He was the best provider, working all day at Priebe’s and then coming home and working all night in his garage. His family meant everything to him, especially Jackie, the way he cared for her while she was dying was pure love.

Gerald was a man of routine. He would call his sisters every weekend and after retirement, he spent his time with his best friend and brother, Ken, every morning and every afternoon. You could set your watch to it. Gerald was also a lifelong member of the American Legion and was a part of the “Bob Evans Breakfast Club” which was a group of men he had breakfast with every morning for the last 40 years, no matter the weather.

Gerald is survived by his children, Tony (Julie) Greco, Vince (Kim) Greco, Irene (Reiner) Schünke and Stacey (Steve) Nutting; siblings Kenneth (Carol) Parrigin, Linda King and Marilyn (Ron) Williams; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Gerald is preceded in death by his wife Jackie and his three brothers; Harold, Lavon and Larry.
