Gerald’s life began July 1, 1936, in Coloma, Michigan. Jerry grew up in Bainbridge Township and graduated from Watervliet High School. After high school Jerry proudly served his country in the United States Army, where his service took him over seas. Upon returning home Jerry earned an associate degree from Michigan State University and made his living farming. He loved farming and filling his down time hunting and fishing. Jerry loved his community and you could usually find him in the crowd at home sporting events.
Jerry’s greatest joy was spending time with his loving family who he leaves behind to cherish his memory including: his wife Karen; eight children, Kristi (Matthew) Jacobs, Leesa Rosenbaum, James (Ann) Rosenbaum, Matthew (Katie) Rosenbaum, Martha (Todd) Flippo McGady, Anna Flippo Harper, Geoffrey Flippo, and John (Car) Flippo; two step-daughters, DeAnna Eisen and Lori Coleman; 22 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Lewis (Marilyn) Rosenbaum; two nieces and a nephew.
Jerry died Friday, April 26, 2024, at Hanson Hospice Center. He is preceded in death by his parents Gordon and Clara Rosenbaum and a brother James Rosenbaum.
Jerry’s life will be celebrated Thursday, May 9, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation prior starting at 10:00 a.m. at Midway Baptist Church in Watervliet. Hutchins Funeral Home in Watervliet is assisting Jerry’s family. Memorials may be made in Jerry’s name to Midway Baptist Church or Hanson Hospice Center.
