God is evergreen

 Most of us know the Christmas carol “O Tannenbaum.” We know it as “O Christmas Tree,” but many don’t know that a tannenbaum is just a plain fir tree. The author of this carol would look at this tree which never lost its green luster in the face of winter snow. It inspired the original lyrics, which translated read: “O fir tree, O fir tree, how loyal are your needles. You’re green not only in summertime, but also in winter when it snows. O fir tree, O fir tree, how loyal are your needles.”
