Harold “Butch” Dean Koebel Jr., 56, passed away Sunday, Oct. 12, 2025, surrounded by his loving family, after a long battle with cancer. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on his birthday, April 21, 2026, at a time and place still, to be decided.

Butch was born April 21, 1969, in Detroit, Michigan to Mable Becker and Harold Dean Koebel Sr. He has been a dedicated team member to B&Z Construction for 25 years, as a heavy equipment operator. His passion for machines could also be seen in his personal life with his ATVs and motorcycles. Butch’s outdoor enthusiasm fueled his passions for hunting, fishing, target practicing and kayaking.

Butch married the love of his life, Dawn Balkin, on Sept. 28, 2023. He is survived by his wife - Dawn Koebel; mother – Mable Becker; daughter – Kelsey (Jake) Kline; step-children – Jeromy Trumps, Chad Trumps, Athenna M. Poe, David D. (Lutz) Poe, Zackery A. (Aleah Scroggs) Poe and Gaylon (Mariah) Poe; grandchildren – Eva M. Poe, Easton L. Poe, Adeline M. Poe, Hunter A. Poe, Jolene Poe, Bella Poe, Scarlett Poe, Brandon Ramirez, Joslynn Natias, Destiny Trumps, Adriana Trumps, Wyatt Schultz, Joshua Kroschel, and Jaysen Bauschke, sisters and brothers – Roshonda L. (Jesse Martin) O’Leary, Tonya Koebel, Barb (Allen) Stanage, Sharon (Gregory) Peterson, Phillis Welsh, Brenda Strasser, Rex Strasser, Mike Strasser, Ricky Strasser, Sandy Karr, Eddy Becker and Bo Becker; many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

Butch was preceded in death by his father, Harold Dean Koebel Sr. Butch was the life of the party and will be dearly missed.
