On Monday, May 19, 2025, the Hartford City Commissioner’s business meeting was called to order following both the Truth in Taxation & 2025 Millage Rate and the Public Hearing for the City of Hartford Proposed 2025/2026 Fiscal Year Budget special commission meetings.

The business portion of the meeting opened with a presentation of a Mayor’s Proclamation for two Hartford teenagers who have been noted for their action of bravery. It was noted that on March 13, three juveniles set a construction trailer on fire in Hartford. These two teenagers, who lived near where the incident took place, the 100 block of 60th Avenue in the City of Hartford, saw individuals fleeing from the trailer that had just been set on fire. That’s when both Rigo Moreles and Kamryn Johnson ran to the trailer with fire extinguishers and put out the fire. Their actions saved the trailer and contents.
