On Monday, March 23, the Hartford City Commissioners’ business meeting was called to order promptly at 6 p.m. Mayor Jane Danger called for the reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance, the board approved the agenda, and the meeting proceeded.

Senior citizens are often seen as recipients of care, yet many now serve as caregivers themselves - part of the “sandwich generation.” While the term traditionally described middle-aged adults caring for children and aging parents, today many older adults are “sandwiched” between caring for an elderly spouse, sibling, or parent while also supporting adult children and grandchildren. Though rewarding, this dual role brings emotional, physical, and financial challenges.

The Hartford Public Schools Board of Education met on March 16, 2026, covering a range of personnel changes, student recognition, program approvals, and district updates that reflect both transition and continued momentum across the district.
