Senior citizens are often seen as recipients of care, yet many now serve as caregivers themselves - part of the “sandwich generation.” While the term traditionally described middle-aged adults caring for children and aging parents, today many older adults are “sandwiched” between caring for an elderly spouse, sibling, or parent while also supporting adult children and grandchildren. Though rewarding, this dual role brings emotional, physical, and financial challenges.
