All Spring Break week visitors to the Hartford Public Library can complete the “Silly Sidewalk Obstacle Course.” After finishing the course participants can enter the drawing for a prize. They can enter as many times as they complete the course. There are four secret prizes. Of course, the weather conditions will affect the course.
Everyday there is a Lego Build Challenge from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This is a drop in program. Those participating must make a Lego creation or scene each day. Library staff must take a photo of each project. Each day those who create a Lego project may enter the drawing for one of four prizes. Friday, April 5, is the last Lego Challenge and the last chance to enter the drawing.
On Monday, April 1, at 11 a.m. and at 1 p.m., they are shooting off water rockets at the library (weather permitting). At 2 p.m. is a Springtime craft time.
On Tuesday, April 2, at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., there will be airplane launching at the library (weather permitting). At 2 p.m. kids can color a diorama or a soccer field, dance studio or a fishing pond.
On Wednesday, April 3, at 11 a.m., there is shooting water rockets and at 1 p.m. launching airplanes. At 2 p.m. kids can paint a spring sun catcher.
On Thursday, April 4, at 11 a.m. the library is doing giant bubbles (weather permitting). At 2 p.m. kids can build a marble maze and/or a Bot Maze.
Winners for all drawings will be chosen on Friday, April 5 at 4:30 p.m.
All the programs are free to the children and materials are provided. Registration is not necessary and staff hopes for a great turnout during their Spring Break activities.
