Hartford Public Library news

Every second and fourth Wednesday, the Hartford Public Library has “Family Links Playtime” at 11 a.m. The program is open to children from birth to 5 years. Each month has a literacy theme. The theme for January is “Let’s Talk About Shapes.” The next Playtime is Wednesday, Jan. 25. No registration is necessary. Expect a fun and educational experience for you and your children.

On Wednesday, Feb. 1, there will be an indoor snowball competition from 4 to 5 p.m. Test your snowball aim with several games.

Library news

Toddler/PreK Story Times

Weekly interactive story times at Coloma Public Library for toddlers and pre-K age children are with Miss Sara on Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m.

Book Club

The public is invited to join the library’s Book Club every other Thursday at 4 p.m. in the Community Room. The next meeting is Jan. 19. The selected title is Black Cake by Charmaine Wilkerson. The next selection is Winter Garden by Kristin Hannah.

Paws for Reading

School-age children are invited for 15-minute individual reading sessions with certified therapy dogs, Margaret and Pailey. Next session is Wednesday, Jan. 25 from 4:30 - 5:30 p.m. Pre-registration is preferred, but walk-ins will be accommodated when possible.

Homeschool Club

Meet caregivers and new friends in the library’s monthly networking group for homeschooling families. Next meeting is Thursday, Jan. 19 at 12 p.m.

STEAM Day

Back by popular demand, the Coloma Public Library STEAM Day from the summer is being held again. Join staff in scientific discovery and learn something new on Thursday, Jan. 26, 4–5 p.m.
